Our History

  • Expansion into Metals Recycling & Waste Management

    The Group expands into Metals Recycling & Waste Management industry as a way to satisfy growing demand for primary metals and contribute towards moving from the linear economy towards a green circular economy.

  • Expansion of Agri commodities division

    Swiss trading company is joined by a team of seasoned commodity traders. The Group shifts its focus to sourcing and trading grains, oilseeds, and makes major investments in logistics infrastructure.

  • Investment division formed

    Barens Capital established. An investment division focused on private equity strategies and Real Estate investment.

  • Barens expands to UK

    A designated UK trading company is set up to focus on importing and distributing Barens ChocolateTM across the EU market.

  • Barens Group puts down roots in Switzerland

    A designated Swiss trading company is set up to focus on procuring cocoa, palm oil and sugar products for own confectionery manufacturing needs and trading internationally.

  • Confectionery manufacturing started

    Barens Chocolate established, acquiring assets and becoming a confectionery manufacturer with production plants in Ukraine.

  • Soft commodities business established

    Soft commodities trading desk established, initially focusing on procurement of cocoa and palm oil products.
